Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimri are teaming up for the first time for T-Series, Balaji Telefilms and Wakaoo Films` new project. Titled Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, the film will be directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and is touted to be a pure masala entertainer set in the swinging 90s.
The collaboration between industry giants Bhushan Kumar & Krishan Kumar, Shobha Kapoor & Ektaa R Kapoor, Vipul D Shah, Ashwin Varde & Rajesh Bahl, Raaj Shaandilyaa & Vimal Lahoti has set the stage for a film that is sure to leave a lasting impression.
Earlier today, the makers also unveiled an intriguing poster with the initials of the film`s title, `VVKWWV` teasing the audience and leaving them guessing the title. Workwise, Rajkummar was last seen in the Netflix series, Guns And Gulaabs along with Dulquer Salmaan, Gulshan Devaiah and Adarsh Gourav. Speaking of his theatrical projects, he was the lead in Bheed with Bhumi Pednekar. Rajkummar`s upcoming titles include Mr. and Mrs. Mahi with Janhvi Kapoor, Sri with Alaya F, and Stree 2 with Shraddha Kapoor.
Tripti made her debut with Laila Majnu in 2018. She rose to fame with the Netflix film, Bulbbul in 2020. The actress played the titular role in the supernatural thriller. Tripti reunited with her Bulbbul director, Anvita Dutt, for Qala. It released on Netflix last year. Both films were produced by Anushka Sharma`s brother Karnesh Sharma under the banner, Clean Slate Filmz.
Workwise, Tripti will share the screen space with Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna in Animal. She has done a film with Vicky Kaushal. The title of the film is reportedly Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam. It will release on February 23, 2024.
Raaj, who has been roped in to direct Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, delivered a box office hit with Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday`s recently released film, Dream Girl 2. The rom-com made 100 crores globally and in India as well. He reunites with producer Ektaa after the success of Dream Girl 2.
